You may be concerned about coming and wonder if therapy is going to be effective. So far, the evidence has found that therapy works. For example, in 1980 a group of researchers did an extensive analysis of all the research into how effective therapy is. They looked at 475 research studies in psychotherapy. They concluded that 80% of the people who complete treatment are better off than those people who did not receive treatment. In effect, this makes therapy as effective as getting a pacemaker fitted.
